“Crying Pretty” is the sixth studio album by the American Idol sensation, Carrie Underwood. Honestly, Carrie is such a great artist that I forget she was discovered through American Idol majority of the time.
Her way with words and the beats to her music will be forever my favorites, and it shows on this album too. She has to be on my top five artists I love, and would want to see in concert. Which matter of fact, I may have to get the tickets to her tour “Crying Pretty” that starts on May 2019.
Anyway, Let’s get into the review:
A lot of people say this is a political statement kind of album, but I would hae to disagree completely. Those individuals may just be focusing on her two master pieces, “The Bullet” and “Love Wins”. This is great and all, but if you’re only focusing on those two out of thirteen you miss the complete message, and feel of the album. To me this album is all about mourning a loss; hints Crying Pretty.
This loss could be yourself, a loved one, someone close, a job or really anything. It’s all about how you connect with the music. I will say this though, she doesn’t stay in the funk! I say this because she includes her songs, “Kingdom,” a sweet, I love my life song, and “The Champion” which is full of self-empowerment.
That’s what I love about Carrie, she is truly dyamic and stays on theme. Overall, I could listen to this album over and over again, and not get tired of it. Below you will see my favorite songs on the album plus the two most contraversial that everyone is talking about, so you can see for yourself:
